Dharmendra's grandson Karan Deol immersed his ashes at Haridwar; priest reveals details

Mumbai: The legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra's demise left his family, peers and fans in sorrow. Recently, the actor's ashes were immersed at Haridwar. The priest who performed the rituals revealed that it was done by the actor's grandson Karan Deol. 

Speaking to ANI, priest Rohit Shrotriya stated, "Their family members came here... They wanted to immerse the ashes at Har Ki Pauri, but for some reason, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol could not go, and Dharmendra ji's grandson Karan (Deol) performed the immersion of the ashes... The ritual of 'pind daan' was also performed... Sunny Deol's entire family, Bobby Deol's entire family, was involved in this..."

The priest also stated that the pre-rituals were carried out at a private hotel. 

Dharmendra's death details 

Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, at his Juhu residence. The actor, nicknamed the He-Man of Bollywood, had been discharged from the hospital two weeks earlier. His death left a void in the hearts of the people who loved him.

Many took to social media to cherish the actor's memories. They remembered the generous person he was and the influence he had on generations. 

The actor is survived by his wives, Prakash Kaur and Hema Malini, and six kids-Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Vijeta, Ajeita, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol. The actor's family organised an event to celebrate his life at the Seaside Lawns, Taj Lands End in Bandra, Mumbai.

Agastya Nanda, who acted with Dharmendra in his last film 'Ikkis', stated, "You know, for me it’s very emotional because Dharam ji worked with all generations of my family. He worked with my great-grandfather, grandfather, and I had the privilege to share screen space with him. As sir said, it’s an honour, a huge privileg,e and I am extremely sad that he couldn’t see the love he deserves. It is emotional for all of us."
