New Delhi: There’s no slowing down for Dhurandhar. The Aditya Dhar directorial has turned into a full-blown box office phenomenon, storming past Rs 160 crore worldwide in just its opening weekend.

The frenzy around Dhurandhar is growing bigger each day. The film collected a massive Rs 106.50 crore net in India during its first weekend, while its worldwide gross has zoomed to Rs 160.15 crore. The film’s Sunday surge of Rs 44.80 crore sealed its position as a record-smashing opener, adding to its Friday and Saturday tallies of Rs 28.60 crore and Rs 33.10 crore respectively.

Jio Studios and B62 Studios confirmed the numbers in a joint release on Monday, celebrating the film’s thumping momentum. “The mania is real, and the verdict is out! Audiences across age groups are loving this genre-bending entertainer. It’s a celebration of thrilling storytelling and a new cinematic experience,” the statement read.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar blends high-octane action with emotional storytelling, set in the intriguing world of spies and gangsters. Trade analysts have lauded its universal appeal and strong repeat value. Film trade expert Taran Adarsh shared on X that the film’s “extraordinary growth over the weekend reflects terrific word of mouth and growing trust in original, big-scale content.”

The film’s India Gross Box Office Collection (GBOC) stands at Rs 125.67 crore, while overseas business contributed Rs 34.48 crore, taking the global total to a towering Rs 160.15 crore. Such performance, analysts say, paves the way for Dhurandhar to become one of the top-grossing Indian films of the year if this momentum continues.

Exhibitors, too, are in complete awe. “This is the kind of film that drives people back to cinemas,” said a Mumbai-based theatre owner. “We are adding extra shows due to audience demand — it’s that kind of hysteria.”
