It is expected to do even better on Sunday.
Initially, the film was predicted to open around ₹18-20 crore domestically.
The film has also picked up pace online, with Book My Show selling about 25-30K tickets per hour through Saturday and Sunday.
According to Trade sources, the film earned just under $ 1 million internationally on Saturday. The international gross collection now stands at $ 1.8 million. Sources claim that the film would cross the Rs 100 crore mark on Sunday.
If the current trend continues, the film will cross Rs 100 crore domestically and Rs 150 crore internationally over its first weekend.
Dhurandhar is a spy-action thriller that stars Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. Ranveer, the protagonist of the movie, plays the role of an Indian spy infiltrating terror networks in Lyari. The film was caught in the middle of controversy after the family of Major Mohit Sharma alleged that the story was closely related to the army man's life. However, Aditya clarified that the film had nothing to do with Major Mohit's life events.
Additionally, CBFC also noted that the characters and events in the film are fictitious.
