Mumbai: Madhuri Dixit opened up about her marriage to Dr Shriram Nene. Shre revealed that her marriage was not arranged as many assumed it to be. In an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, she stated that she had dated her husband for six months before deciding to tie the knot.
The actress spoke of her idea of romance while she shone as an actress in Bollywood. She stated that it did not have anything to do with her male co-stars.
“I love to love. Just thinking about love is romantic to me. Even if you give me a rock, I can romance it,” said the actress. She revealed that when she met her now-husband, he had no idea about her stardom. When asked if her marriage was arranged, she revealed, "Not really. We were introduced by my brother, but we dated for six months before deciding we were right for each other.”
Describing her union, the actress said that her relationship is based on admiration, respect, and a strong sense of partnership. She also added, "I think we are a blessing in each other’s lives. And my kids are the biggest blessings.” The actress continued, "Career was there, it still is, and it will continue. But the bigger blessing is my husband. If you’re not happy in your real life, no matter what you achieve, it won’t give you happiness, because you have no one to share it with.”
Madhuri also stated that she was never in a hurry to settle down. Though her siblings kept trying to set her up, she often rejected their proposals. She added, "Every day in my career was fun. I felt that if I ended up with someone who wasn’t right for me, that fun would be gone."
The actress is all set for the release of the crime thriller, Nagesh Kukunoor. It will be released on December 19.
