“When he saw Haq, he said some of the nicest things to me. I always look forward to his feedback on my work as an actor. Being a mother is a blessing in my life, but I must work as I want to,” said Yami. The actress explained the hesitation she had in getting back to work.
She added, "Initially, there was a feeling of mom-guilt (because I was) resuming work so soon. But my mother had told me to not allow the sentiment of motherhood hold me back as I have worked hard all my life (to be) an independent woman.”
Aditya and Yami met each other while working on the 2019 blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike. While Aditya directed the fillm, Yami played an important role in the film. Soon, the professional relationship became a friendly one. Gradually, the deep friendship turned into romance. However, the couple kept their relationship away from the public eye. The movie 'Haq' was directed by Suparn Varma. The film was based on Shah Bano Begum's landmark case in 1985 that granted Muslim women the right to maintenance after divorce. Though Shah Bano Begum's daughter appealed for a stay on the release of the film, it wasn't granted. The film was released on November 7.
Meanwhile, Aditya's movie Dhurandhar starring Ranveer Singh is making waves at the box office.
