New Delhi: The Emmy Awards 2025 took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (September 14). The star-studded night was full of surprises as it celebrated the year’s biggest and boldest shows. While Severance and The White Lotus tied for major nominations, there were plenty of snubs and misses at the coveted award ceremony.
Despite getting most nominations for the award show, The White Lotus won nothing. Some of the actors, including Kathy Bates, and Colin Farrell, among others. Not only this, but the Emmys ‘Memoriam segment’ missed out on giving tributes to some of the legends.
The White Lotus, which won 16 Emmy awards for the past seasons, went home empty-handed despite most nominations. Similarly, The Bear was also shut out despite 13 nominations. Talking about the Memorium Segment, the night honoured stars such as Maggie Smith, John Amaos, Ozzy Osbourn e, and Loretta Swit, some names were left out, including Hulk Hogan, What's Happening actor Danielle Spencer, General Hospital star Leslie Charleson, Alice star Polly Holliday, and The Sopranos actor Jerry Adler. Other names that were missed were Tony Todd, Graham Greene, King of the Hill actor Jonathan Joss, Lynne Marie Stewart of Pee-Wee's Playhouse, and Dennis the Menace star Jay North.
