Mumbai: Karan Johar shared his thoughts regarding the release of Ikkis and watching Dharamendra's final role in the movie. The filmmaker was talking to reporters at the trailer launch conference of Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
The filmmaker stated, "I'm looking forward to watching Ikkis. It's such a special film to all of us. For me, for personal reasons, we have such great regard, respect and reverence for Dharam ji, and it's been a tremendous loss to all of us. And watching him for one last time will mean the world to all of us as fans and cinegoers."
He further talked about his relationship with those part of Ikkis. "Also, it's Agastya's film, like I've known Ananya, I've known Agastya, and Dinu's a great friend," said Karan.
Ikkis, directed by Sriram Raghavan, was initially scheduled to release on December 25, 2025. However, the date was then shifted to January 1, 2026. It tells the story of the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Arun Khetarpal, a second lieutenant who passed away during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war at the age of 21.
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Release
Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri , starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, is releasing on December 25. When Karan was asked about the competition it is going to face at the box office, he stated that the theatres have space for all types of movies.
“I'm incredibly proud of the success of 'Durandhar' and my congratulations to the entire team. It's a phenomenal film. I've heard the best things about ‘Avatar’, but I've also heard amazing things about our film. I know that it's a Christmas release and it's a festive release,” said Karan.
Dhirandhar has been giving films a lot of competition. It has managed to maintain momentum.
