Mumbai: Korean singer Seaya shared that she did not expect the love she is getting for his song in the movie Love in Vietnam. She revealed that she made the song after watching the Shantanu Maheshwari-Avneet Kaur starrer alone in her studio in Seoul.

“The emotions stayed with me long after it ended. There is a warmth in the story that does not feel forced. It reminded me of the kind of love people do not talk about loudly, but they feel deeply," said the singer. She revealed that the song was inspired by that feeling.

"I was not trying to make a soundtrack. I was trying to bottle an emotion. I wanted listeners to feel the same softness I felt," said the artist. However, she had no idea that it would spark a buzz on social media.

Soon after the song was released online, it took off. The Korean audience loved the song and shared it on their TikTok edits, Instagram reels and YouTube shorts. They also paired her voice with scenes of Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur, Vietnamese street shots and some romantic moments from the film.

“I thought a few people might discover the film through the song. I did not expect this kind of reaction. It felt like the whole country was suddenly paying attention,' said the singer.

The Korean singer went on to share her views on the cast. “Shantanu has a way of expressing emotion even when he is completely still. Korean fans always notice those quiet moments, and they love his honesty on screen," she said.

Seaya added that Avneet became popular among the Korean audience. "She has a luminous presence. There is a sincerity in her eyes that Korean audiences connect to. She reminds them of the leads in their comfort dramas," saidn the singer. About the director Rahhat Shah Kazmi, Seaya opined, "He makes films with feeling. That is what people here have responded to.”

Love in Vietnam is all set to premiere in Seoul on December 8. Seaya revealed Koreans were thrilled to watch the movie and had been tagging her in questions related to its premiere.

“It is rare for a romance from another Asian country to create this kind of buzz in Korea before release. Knowing that my song helped open that door is something I will always be grateful for," said the singer. She also spoke of her desire to watch the movie along with the audience to see their reactions to the movie.

She also stated that the song's success and the excitement of Koreans to see the movie showcase the changing cultural landscape. “Asia is opening its heart to Asia. We are listening to each other’s music, watching each other’s films, sharing emotions across languages. Love in Vietnam is part of that movement. I just followed a feeling. If that simple feeling helped so many people discover this film, then I think it was meant to be,” said the singer.
