New Delhi: Veteran Malayalam actor Shanavas died on Monday (August 4) at the age of 71 in Thiruvananthapuram. As reported by Manorama Online, the actor was suffering from health ailments for a long time. He had a kidney-related disease for which he was being treated in a private hospital. He breathed his last on Monday night. The actor had been admitted to the hospital a few hours before his death.

About late actor Shanavas

The actor was the son of the superstar Prem Nazir. The actor had been a humble and sincere person all his life. He had a good acting career and had worked in 96 films so far, which include both Tamil and Malayalam cinema. He started his career in the year 1981 with the film Premageethangal, which was directed by Balchandra Menon. He did his first movie when he was in his college days. Earlier, he was usually known by his father's legacy and his name, but later he carved his own niche in the South film industry.

He didn't settle into one kind of role but worked in different genres of movies from rom-coms to crime thrillers and much more. In total, he had an acting career of nearly four decades. Some most loved works of the actors were in these movies, Gaanam, Aazhi, 'Maharajavu, Himam, Chithram, Premageethangal, Mylanji, Mouna Raagam, Manithali, and much more. Shanavas acting career was not limited to the silver screen; he also worked in television.

The actor's last film came out in the year 2022. which was named as Jana Gana Mana. His demise has left the South film industry in shock. He was a star who not only acted but performed so well on the screen that everyone looked and felt so real.
