Mortal Kombat II trailer out: Karl Urban as Johnny Cage in blood-soaked combat
New Delhi: Karl Urban-starrer Mortal Kombat II has been released, leaving fans excited. While there have been film adaptations of the Mortal Kombat game, the movies of the iconic franchise were not able to live up to its legacy. In the new movie, Johnny Cage takes the centre stage.
The trailer shows a tournament-style competition, choosing between two characters. It also shows action-packed sequences. The sequel will also focus on the martial arts skills. The movie stars Karl Urban, Martyn Ford, Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Lewis Tan, Joe Taslim and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Earlier, Ed Boon spoke about Karl as Johnny Cage and told Entertainment Weekly, "He's a washed-up Hollywood guy thrown into this magical, ultra-violent thing. Karl, his depiction of Johnny Cage is different from our games in some ways. He is adding his own flair to it, but I think it will feel fresh. There’s like a novelty factor.” Meanwhile, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on October 26, 2025.
