UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan undertook a brief, high-impact visit to India, holding extensive discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leaders established an ambitious roadmap to double bilateral trade from $100 billion to $200 billion by 2032, demonstrating a clear commitment to enhanced economic cooperation.
Key outcomes included the signing of agreements across critical sectors such as energy, defence, and space. A significant development was the 10-year liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply deal between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC Gas), with supplies commencing in 2028. This deal underscores Indias focus on energy security, with the UAE already being its second-largest LNG supplier.
Discussions also covered defence collaboration, including industrial cooperation and specialised training for special forces. Both leaders unequivocally condemned cross-border terrorism.
Furthermore, the UAE President expressed support for Indias BRICS chairmanship and confirmed participation in the upcoming AI Impact Summit, highlighting the growing strategic depth of India-UAE relations.
