Mumbai: Rumours of Palesh Muchhal cheating have gone viral after his wedding with cricketer Smriti Mandhana was put on hold. With speculations spreading online, Palash's cousin came to his defence. She asked people not to pass judgment on the music composer.
Palash’s cousin Neeti Tak took to her Instagram stories and shared, "Palash is going through a critical condition today, you all should not judge Palash as wrong without knowing the truth." She added, "Technology today has come much ahead of humans, that is why people should not judge Palash in the face of rumours… pray for him.”
Palesh's wedding with the Indian cricketer was initially delayed after her father had a medical emergency. Soon after, Palesh was also admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Following the hospitalisation, it was confirmed that the wedding was indefinitely put on hold. However, nobody expected the twist that came after.
An Instagram user named Mary D’Costa shared screenshots of her conversation with Palash on Reddit. The private chats quickly gained traction, with social media users and fans of Smriti accusing Palash of cheating on her. Meanwhile, Smriti deleted all the wedding-related posts on her Instagram page. Her actions also contributed to the hearsay.
Smriti and Palesh had been dating since 2019.
Earlier, Palash’s sister Palak had requested privacy. She wrote, "Due to Smriti’s father’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. We would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families during this sensitive time."
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Palash's mother said that the music composer was close to Smriti's father and added that stress took a toll on his health.
"Since haldi was done, we didn’t let him go outside. He cried so much that his health suddenly deteriorated. They kept him in the hospital for four hours. He was given an IV drip, an ECG was done, and other tests were carried out. Everything came back normal, but he is under a lot of stress," said the mother.
