Guwahati: Post Malone took to the stage in Guwahati for his first-ever solo headline concert in India. Fans across the country flocked to Assam to witness the landmark event.
The concert was produced and promoted by BookMyShow Live, the live entertainment division of BookMyShow and Live Nation, in collaboration with the Government of Assam and the Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC).
The evening started with the performance of Kayan, whose warm vocals and genre-fluid sound set the perfect tone. She performed songs like Cool Kids, Good Kinda Love and Hold Me Down. Post Malone stepped on stage, in his trademark relaxed style. The T-shirt he wore featured the Indian map with the Taj Mahal and the word “India” inscribed below. His entry was marked by a roar and applause from the audience. Fans of the artist were thrilled and could not contain their excitement.
“I am grateful to be back in India and in Zubeen Garg’s homeland," said Post Malone on stage.
The night ended with the arena glimmering with cellphone lights. The concert marked a cultural milestone for Northeast.
“Assam is entering an exciting new phase with the introduction of our Concert Tourism Policy, designed to position the state as a leading destination for international cultural experiences. Post Malone’s debut headline performance in Guwahati marks a significant step in this direction, bringing world-class talent to the region while creating broader economic and cultural opportunities. Our partnership with BookMyShow Live reflects a shared vision to build a strong, sustainable ecosystem for live entertainment in Assam and to showcase the state’s unique identity on the global stage," said Padmapani Bora, Managing Director of ATDC.
Over 2,800 personnel were deployed for the smooth operations, including Guwahati Police, private security teams, fire marshals and on-ground staff.
