Yash Toxic teaser: Controversy has erupted around the teaser of Toxic, the upcoming Kannada film starring Yash, days after its high-profile release. The teaser, unveiled on the actor’s 40th birthday on January 8, has now drawn objections from the Women’s Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has formally approached the Karnataka State Women’s Commission seeking action.

According to the complaint, the teaser contains visuals described as “obscene and explicit,” with the party arguing that such content harms the social well-being of women and children.

The representation also claims that the teaser undermines the cultural values associated with Kannada cinema and public morality. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has been positioned as a dark, stylised project, but the women’s wing insists that the imagery crosses acceptable limits.

In its appeal, the AAP women’s wing urged the Commission to recommend that the State Government “withdraw or cancel the teaser of Toxic.” The complaint further states that the teaser was released publicly without age-related warnings or viewing restrictions, which, according to the party, exposes minors to inappropriate material and compromises the dignity of women. Party members stressed that unrestricted circulation on social media intensified their concerns.

AAP State Secretary Usha Mohan followed up the representation by calling for swift action from authorities. She urged the Commission to involve both the State Government and the police to ensure the teaser is removed from circulation across digital platforms. Mohan also highlighted the need for stricter regulations to prevent similar content from reaching the public without oversight in the future.

Taking note of the complaint, the Karnataka State Women’s Commission has formally written to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In its communication, the Commission asked the certification body to examine the teaser under existing rules and submit a report. The letter reiterates the concerns raised by the AAP women’s wing, stating that the uncensored release and lack of warnings could negatively affect women, children and public sensibilities.

As of now, neither the makers of Toxic nor Yash have issued an official response to the complaint. The film is slated to release on March 19, 2026 and also stars Tara Sutaria, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Rukmani Vasanth and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles.
