Bengaluru, India – A software engineer in Bengaluru, Premanand, has become the victim of an alleged online delivery fraud after ordering a high-end smartphone through Amazon.

Premanand had purchased a Samsung Z Fold smartphone, valued at approximately ₹1.85 lakh, via the Amazon app. Upon unboxing the prepaid delivery, he discovered a stone instead of the phone.

Reports indicate that the stone found in the parcel was roughly the same size and weight as the Samsung Z Fold, suggesting a deliberate attempt at deception. Premanand had already made the full payment in advance for the product. Following the discovery, attempts to contact the delivery executive were unsuccessful, with no response received.

Subsequently, Premanand lodged a formal complaint through the NCRP portal. The police have since registered an FIR in connection with the incident and are actively investigating the matter. Authorities are probing whether this event is an isolated case or part of a larger, organised delivery scam network operating in the region.
