Bihar Assembly Elections: Lalus son Tejashwi Yadav unveils major poll promises ahead of polls
With the Bihar Assembly polls less than two weeks away, Mahagathbandhans Chief Ministerial candidate, Tejashwi Yadav, has unveiled a series of significant promises. Addressing a rally in Patna, the RJD leader pledged to make contractual workers permanent and offer interest-free loans of ₹5 lakh to artisans in trades such as pottery, blacksmithing, and carpentry.
Further commitments included a substantial increase in per-quintal margin money for PDS distributors, along with pension schemes and a ₹50 lakh insurance cover for Panchayat and Gram Kachahari representatives.
Yadav positioned himself as a harbinger of change, asserting that Bihars populace is "fed up" with the current government and expressed his ambition to make Bihar the number one state within 20 months.
He also dismissed claims of internal rifts within the Mahagathbandhan, confirming upcoming joint campaigns with Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. Yadav stated that a joint manifesto from the alliance is imminent, consolidating their vision for the state.
