Gangster Anmol Bishnoi was remanded to 11-day NIA custody after he was deported from US on Wednesday. The fugitive landed in Delhi earlier in the day and is wanted in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. Meanwhile, Anmol's family urged the Central government to ensure his safety, expressing concern over the "gang war". His cousin Ramesh Bishnoi said the family “respects the law" but wants assurance that Anmol will not be harmed in India. He also alleged that Anmol was being targeted for being the brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.

Hundreds of undocumented Bangladeshi nationals, including women and children, were intercepted by the BSF at the Hakimpur check post in North 24 Parganas on Monday while trying to return home amid fears linked to the ongoing SIR of electoral rolls. Many admitted paying brokers around Rs 10,000 each to enter India and worked without documents in areas like Rajarhat and Salt Lake. None carried passports or visas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tamil Nadu today to inaugurate the South India Natural Farming Summit and release over Rs 18,000 crore to farmers under the 21st instalment of PM-KISAN, benefiting 9 crore farmers nationwide. PM Modi will arrive in Coimbatore at 1:30 pm from Puttaparthi after attending the centenary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The summit will promote natural and regenerative farming, strengthen market linkages for FPOs and rural entrepreneurs, and showcase innovations in organic inputs, agro-processing, eco-friendly packaging, and indigenous technologies. More than 50,000 farmers, experts, and stakeholders from Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states are expected to attend.
