PTI lawmakers to protest at Islamabad High Court seeking Imran Khan’s release

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers will hold a major protest outside the Islamabad High Court on Tuesday demanding the release of former prime minister Imran Khan, party leader and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said on Sunday. He alleged Khan has been kept in “complete isolation” in Adiala Jail since November 4, with no access for family, lawyers or party leaders.

Haryana family seeks MEA help to bring back body of man murdered in UK

The family of 30-year-old Vijay Kumar Sheoran, murdered in a street attack in Worcester on November 25, has urged the Ministry of External Affairs to help repatriate his body to Haryana. Vijay, originally from Jagrambass village in Charkhi Dadri, had gone to the UK earlier this year to study at the University of West England. His brother Ravi said the family cannot manage the complex legal and financial procedures alone and sought immediate assistance from the Indian High Commission.

Jharkhand teacher, three contract killers held for plot to murder cook’s husband

A para teacher in Jharkhand’s Palamu district has been arrested along with three hired killers for allegedly plotting to murder the husband of a mid-day meal cook at his school. Police said the teacher, Satyadev Vishwakarma, wanted a “relationship” with the cook, leading to repeated disputes with her husband. He allegedly offered the assailants Rs 40,000, but police intercepted them on Saturday night and seized a pistol and two knives.

Assam CM says 11 illegal immigrants pushed back in midnight operation

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday that 11 illegal immigrants were sent back from Sribhumi district along the Bangladesh border during a midnight operation. Praising the police, he joked on X that the action was “so clean even Singham would pause the background music,” adding that the infiltrators were pushed back by 12:30 am without “a villain entry” or “a flying jeep.” The state continues its crackdown on illegal Bangladeshi entrants.

Five killed in house fire in eastern France

Five people died after a massive blaze tore through a home in Neuves-Maisons in eastern France, authorities said on Sunday. Around 70 firefighters battled the overnight fire, while a sixth person was treated for smoke inhalation. Local reports said the victims included a couple and three youths aged 17–20, believed to be their son and his friends. An emergency support unit has been set up for affected residents.
