Dense Fog Grips Delhi-NCR as AQI Reaches Severe Levels
Dense fog has blanketed Delhi and parts of the National Capital Region (NCR), leading to drastically reduced visibility and a severe deterioration in air quality. As of 6:00 a.m. today, Delhi's overall Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 405, placing it in the severe category. Several areas across the region reported alarming AQI levels, including Anand Vihar at 462, Noida Sector 125 at 414, Wazirpur at 444, and Chandni Chowk at 426.
In response to these challenging conditions and extreme cold, authorities in Gautam Buddh Nagar have mandated the closure of all recognised schools for classes nursery to 12th.
The holidays are effective from 29th December to 1st January, aiming to ensure the safety and well-being of students. Teachers and staff in council-run, aided, and government schools are still required to report for administrative duties.
