New Delhi: A dog in Nandpur village of the Nagina area in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district has become the centre of attention these days. Due to the dog's mysterious behaviour inside a temple, a large crowd of onlookers and devotees has been gathering there. The situation has reached a point where people have started worshipping the dog itself.

Bhajans, kirtans being held at temple

After completing continuous circumambulation for 24 hours, the dog rested for about three hours during the day on Thursday. Villagers placed a mattress inside the temple premises, where the dog sat and rested. Surprisingly, devotees visiting the temple have begun bowing their heads before the dog. After resting, the dog once again resumed circumambulating the idol of Goddess Durga.

Hundreds of villagers are arriving at the temple to offer prayers. Some believe that the dog is inhabited by the soul of a sage or saint, while others worship it as a manifestation of Lord Bhairavnath. Continuous bhajans, kirtans and prayers are now being held at the temple.

What veterinary doctors said about dog

Meanwhile, a team of veterinary doctors from Bijnor also reached the spot to examine the dog. According to the doctors, the dog has suffered a head injury that has affected its mental balance, causing it to move in circles in a single direction. However, local residents have disagreed with the doctors' assessment. They argue that it is impossible to keep circumambulating for so many days without food or water unless there is some divine power involved.
