Gurgaon: A French expatriate residing in Gurgaon criticised the local authorities of the city in a viral post. The woman called out the unsanitary conditions, the waterlogged roads, the filthy open drains, etc. Her raw and emotional post resonated with many people online.

Mathilde R, who has been staying in the city for a long time, described the pathetic situation of the city and blamed the authorities for not doing their duty. She added that the deteriorating state of the city was forcing many in the expat population to move out of Gurgaon. “What could have been a modern, peaceful city has turned into a massive landfill. Many of my expat friends are moving back to Delhi or leaving India for good. Abroad feels like a relief," wrote the woman.

Further, without mincing her words, the French expat asked how the taxes were being utilised. She blatantly wrote, "We wonder if our taxes are building someone else’s castle instead of providing us a decent life." The woman went on to ask the authorities if they believed tourists would want to visit a place that was not filthy and orderless.

"Gurgaon has become the hellish version of an adventure park. If you dare to step out of your home, you can try to walk through sewage and people's poop, die on the road trying to make your way out of your streets, or end up electrocuted while you are coming back from work,” said the woman.

She added that stepping out of her home felt like going into a sewage park. Netizens raised similar concerns in the comments. One user claimed that the city was "sinking in garbage and poor infrastructure". Another individual claimed, "Governments, Politicians, Bureaucrats and corrupt contractors have failed the city. No one seems to care, they come, make tall promises and disappear."
