New Delhi: In Nevada Vijay village of Hardoi, a city in Uttar Pradesh, violence marred a wedding after a DJ operator's father was shot dead on late Thursday night. The incident took place after the groom’s brothers-in-law, Akhilesh and Akash Gautam, drunkenly demanded the restart of the music.
According to reports, Akhilesh allegedly told Akash, “Nikaalo aslahaa, maaro goli, main vakilon se sab nipat loonga (Take out the weapon, shoot him, I’ll manage the lawyers).” Following that, Akash shot 45-year-old Puttulal, the father of the DJ operator.
DJ operator Amit refused to play the music beyond the government’s permitted hours despite the groom’s brothers-in-law’s insistence. Amit, owner of the “New Aashish DJ Floor” service, was performing at the wedding of Tikaram Raidas’s daughter with groom Vikas of Lucknow.
After he complied with government norms and stopped playing music beyond the stipulated hour, Akhilesh and Akash arrived at the DJ platform in a drunken state and demanded the restarting of the music. According to reports, they manhandled Amit, who called his father Puttulal and elder brother Aashish for help. They tried to diffuse the situation, but the duo was in no mood to listen to them.
While Akash was allegedly boasting about his social stature and wealth, Akhilesh ordered him to bring out the firearm. As a result, Puttulal was allegedly shot at the spot. He was taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The duo fled, and several eyewitnesses at the scene corroborated the incident. The police have arrested Akhilesh within hours, and he has been booked for murder.
