Indian techie from Telangana shot dead by US Police in California. How events unfolded
Mohammed Nizamuddin, a 32-year-old technology professional from Telangana, India, was shot and killed by Santa Clara police officers in California. The incident began as an altercation with his roommate, which escalated into a stabbing. According to reports, Nizamuddin and his roommate engaged in a fight, using knives from the kitchen.
A neighbour called 911. Upon arrival, police found Nizamuddin in possession of a knife and his roommate with stab wounds. An officer fired four shots, killing Nizamuddin. While the Santa Clara Police Department (SCPD) is investigating, reports suggest Nizamuddin may have faced workplace issues including wage fraud and racial harassment. Nizamuddin's family, based in India, was only notified of his death two weeks later.
