After several days of investigation, they located the person identified as D Mani. According to allegations by Chennithala, accused Unnikrishnan Potti had close links with ‘D Mani’ and other dealers in the network.

Mani is said to be an antique trader, and the foreign industrialist has testified about their business dealings. However, it is not yet clear whether these transactions are connected to the gold stolen from Sabarimala.

The SIT clarified that only preliminary questioning has taken place, and Mani has not been taken into custody. The team is investigating whether he had a direct or indirect role in the Sabarimala case. Chennithala had earlier alleged international links in the case. If Mani’s involvement is established, the SIT plans to expand the probe internationally.

Earlier, Chennithala had demanded a court-supervised probe or a CBI investigation, citing delays and alleged government interference.
