Kiren Rijiju: Indian Youth Reject Congress, Rally Behind PM Modi for Corruption-Free Future

| Updated on: Oct 06, 2025 | 12:31 PM

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has asserted that Indias youth have distanced themselves from the Congress party, opting instead to support Prime Minister Modis vision for a corruption-free nation. Rijiju indicated that this "Gen Z" generation rejects traditional power structures and seeks genuine change.

He stated that the new generations thinking aligns with PM Modi, opposing family-centric control over political parties and corruption. According to Rijiju, Modis government is dedicated to the people, suggesting Gen Zs dissent would naturally be directed towards the Congress.

Furthermore, Rijiju sharply criticised Rahul Gandhi for allegedly breaking parliamentary traditions by taking political disputes overseas and speaking against India's government and democratic institutions on foreign soil. He described this as an unparalleled move for a Leader of the Opposition.

Rijiju referenced former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, noting that even she, as an opposition leader, refrained from criticising India abroad. He also cited other opposition figures like Advani, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Sushma Swaraj, and Sharad Pawar, who maintained a similar stance. As Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Rijiju expressed disapproval of what he termed irresponsible statements by the Leader of the Opposition.
