New Delhi: A shocking incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Shravasti on Friday, where five members of a family were found dead inside their home. The deceased include a husband, wife and their three children. There is a heavy police presence in the area.
The incident occurred in Liaquat Purwa, Kailashpur, under the Ikauna police station limits. According to officials, family members and neighbours grew suspicious when the door remained locked in the morning.
They alerted the police, and with the help of villagers, the door was broken open. Inside, they found 35-year-old Roz Ali hanging from a ceiling fan, while his wife and their three children were found dead on the bed under suspicious circumstances.
Police and forensic teams who inspected the scene suspect that Roz Ali strangled his wife and children, either using a pillow or by throttling them before taking his own life. Preliminary findings suggest the couple had been facing domestic disputes for several days, which may have triggered the extreme act.
Superintendent of Police Rahul Bhati said, “Evidence indicates that Roz Ali murdered each family member one by one and then hanged himself. All the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and the complete picture will emerge after the reports are received.”
