Massive Arms Seizure in Manipur: 155 Weapons, 1652 Ammunition Rounds Recovered
A joint operation by Manipur Police and the Assam Rifles resulted in the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition in Manipur. The operation, part of a coordinated search across the state's hill districts, yielded 155 weapons and 1,652 rounds of ammunition.
In addition to the firearms and ammunition, security forces recovered four binoculars, fifteen communication sets, and a telescope. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ningshen Worngan held a press conference in Imphal to announce the details of the successful operation, highlighting the importance of the seizure in maintaining security in the region.
The operation underscores the ongoing efforts to curb illegal arms proliferation in the state.
