Omar Abdullah Urges Judicial Process for Teacher Terminations in J&K

Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has voiced strong concerns regarding the termination of two government school teachers accused of radicalising youth and having links to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Abdullah emphasised that such serious actions should be handled through the court system, rather than by bureaucratic processes.

He argued that individuals facing termination must be afforded the opportunity to present their defence, highlighting that current bureaucratic methods often deny employees this fundamental right. Abdullah noted that many such cases are subsequently overturned by courts, allowing terminated individuals to return to their positions.

He concluded that relying on judicial process would ensure fairness and target genuinely guilty parties, while action based on mere suspicion could prove detrimental to the system.
