Patna NEET Aspirant Death: SIT and CBI Probe Ongoing into Hostel Tragedy
An 18-year-old NEET aspirant from Jehanabad tragically died on 11 January after being discovered unconscious earlier this month at a girls hostel in Chitragupt Nagar, Patna. She remained in a coma for several days before succumbing.
The Bihar government has established a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has also taken over the case, conducting a thorough probe from all angles. Union Minister Jiten Ram Manjhi confirmed these actions, assuring that those responsible would face punishment and measures would be implemented to prevent future incidents.
While the victims family has alleged sexual assault and a cover-up, police state that doctors have not yet confirmed any sexual or penetrative assault. Parents gathered outside the hostel have voiced frustration over alleged non-cooperation from hostel authorities, claiming they were denied entry. Investigations by both the SIT and CBI are ongoing to uncover the full truth behind this distressing incident.
