Schengen joint visa centre shifts location in Delhi, address change for Austria visa centre in Mumbai
The visa centre for Schengen countries in Delhi and the Austria Visa Centre in Mumbai has been relocated. They will now operate from new addresses. THis, according to officials is being done to upgrade operational efficiency and improve applicants' experiences. The Visa applicants to Schengen countries will now have to visit the new office at 27 KG Marg in Delhi instead of the old office at the Shivaji Stadium Metro Station.
New Delhi: The joint visa centre of Schengen countries has been shifted to a new location in New Delhi. A similar announcement was also made for the Austria Visa centre in Mumbai. Visa applicants for both these countries would now have to visit new addresses to get their visas.
Where are the new visa centres located?
The Schengen Joint Visa Application Centre in New Delhi is all set to move from its current premises at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station to a new facility at 27 KG Marg. The transition will start from January 12, 2026 and will take place in phases, said a report in Economic Times. This way of moving the office of the Visa centre has been planned, so that there are no disruptions in the work.
In fact several missions, like those from Croatia, Denmark, Malta, Finland, Iceland, Slovenia, Norway and Sweden, have already wrapped up their offices from the Shivaji Stadium office. The last date of them operating from this office was January 9,2026. New Visa applicants for these countries will now have to submit their applications at the KG Marg office from January 12,2026 onwards.
However passport collection for these countries will continue at the Shivaji Stadium Metro station office, till January 16. After these the passports collection office will also shift to KG Marg, from January 19.
Another group of Schengen countries - Belgium, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, , Austria, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Malta (MES) and the Netherlands - will see their offices shifted to KG Marg from January 19. They will stop functioning from the current office, at Shivaji Stadium from January 16, 2026.
In order to help applicants, the missions have decided to provide a courtesy transport services to the applicants for a limited period. They said that those applicants who report to the Shivaji Stadium office of the missions during the transition phase, will be provided free transport to the KG Marg office, free of cost.
Shift in Austria mission in Mumbai
While several missions are being shifted to a new location in Delhi, the Austria mission in Mumbai has also been shifted to a new address. Starting January 2,2026, the Austria Visa Application Centre has shifted to Urmi Axis Building, Second Floor, behind Famous Studio, opposite E Moses Road, Mahalaxmi (West) in Mumbai.
So visa applicants for Austria will have to visit this new office of the Austria Mission in Mahalaxmi. All services related to the Austria Visa have been stopped at the old office, informed officials.
The VFS Global manages visa applications for Schengen countries in India. This change in offices in both Delhi and Mumbai are being done to upgrade operational efficiency and improve applicants' experiences at the newly built offices in both the cities.
