She is getting on my nerves: Neelesh Misra alleges IndiGo staff mistreated his 10-year-old daughter
Responding to his post, a spokesperson from IndiGo said that Neelesh Misra's daughter was assisted throughout her journey and that she remained under continuous supervision at every stage.
New Delhi: Writer and lyricist Neelesh Mishra slammed IndiGo after his 10-year-old daughter was allegedly mistreated by an airline staffer while she was travelling alone as an "unaccompanied minor" on the carrier's Lucknow to Goa flight.
Detailing his daughter's experience with a rude staffer, the author-lyricist wrote on X, "'This girl is getting on my nerves. She is such a finicky eater! …' 'Don’t you have eyes? Go, go eat! Go and miss your flight!'This and a barrage of other rude things is what the @IndiGo6Estaffer (Laraib?) said about my 10-yr-old daughter Vaidehi Misra who just travelled alone as an unaccompanied minor from Lucknow to Goa."
"We all know about the arrogance of Indigo towards adults. Today I saw it towards a child as well," he added.
Misha who has written songs for films such as Barfi and Bajrangi Bhaijaan said that he had to call the staffer and talk to her but she "continued the attitude" despite his intervention.
IndiGo says staff remained courteous
Responding to his post, a spokesperson from IndiGo said that Misra's daughter was assisted throughout her journey and that she remained under continuous supervision at every stage.
"We truly understand how worrying it can be when a child is travelling on her own. Following a detailed review with our airport teams and careful investigation of the matter, we would like to reassure you that Ms Misra was cared for and assisted throughout her journey," it said.
The airline also said that its teams were "c, and supportive" toward his daughter at all times and they also let her visit food outlets even as very less time was left for the flight to depart.
"As departure time was approaching, Ms Misra wished to visit a few food outlets. Despite the limited time remaining, our team members waited patiently and escorted her safely, ensuring that she boarded the flight," the airline said.
"Please be assured that being present, attentive and supportive throughout the journey is something our teams remain deeply committed to, and we will always be right here to assist you and your loved ones," it added.
Misra hits back
Hitting back at the airline, Misra accused it of trying to defend its employee and protocols and said that the detailed response didn't address any of the concerns he raised.
"Your detailed account doesn’t address any of the concerns I raised. That said, I don’t wish to waste any of your or others users’ social media time. I would only advise parents sending their children unaccompanied to be mindful of this. I came to know of this behaviour because I had handed my daughter a basic feature phone for an emergency during her travel," he said.
