Chomu, a town in Rajasthan, experienced heightened tension after midnight following a dispute related to the removal of stones near a mosque, identified as Kalandari Masjid. The incident escalated into violence, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.

The stones, which had been situated outside the Kalandari Masjid near the bus stand, were reportedly causing traffic congestion and blockages in a populated area. Their removal was intended to alleviate these issues.

However, the action sparked a dispute, and certain "antisocial elements" began pelting stones at the police force present. During these clashes, some police personnel, referred to as jawans, sustained injuries.

In response to the stone-pelting, police resorted to using tear gas to disperse the crowd and bring the situation under control. A heavy police presence was immediately deployed across the area as a precautionary measure.

Senior police officers personally oversaw operations, including conducting route marches to assert authority and ensure security. In a bid to prevent further unrest, internet services in Chomu have been suspended.
