Asia Cup 2025: BCCI vs PCB Turns Ugly Over Jet and Gun Gestures

| Updated on: Sep 26, 2025 | 07:49 AM

The India-Pakistan rivalry at the Asia Cup 2025 has exploded beyond the boundary ropes, turning into a diplomatic slugfest. After India’s win on September 14, captain Suryakumar Yadav’s dedication to the armed forces and victims of the Pahalgam terror attack triggered a formal complaint from the Pakistan Cricket Board, claiming the remarks politicized the sport.

The ICC summoned Yadav for a hearing, where he received an official warning—while a fine or demerit point looms. BCCI officials Hemang Amin and Sumeet Mallapurkar stood by him during the proceedings.

Just hours later, the BCCI fired back, lodging its own complaint against Pakistan’s Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for provocative gestures—Rauf’s "6-0” taunt and Farhan’s "gunshot” celebration.
