Legendary India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh was recently spotted working with Sanju Samson in the nets. Samson, who is part of India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, is preparing for the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand and the subsequent T20 World Cup. Pictures of Samson training under Yuvraj's guidance have gone viral on social media.
Yuvraj, one of the best all-rounders of his time, has worked with several Indian cricketers in the past. He is often credited with improving Team India star Abhishek Sharma's overall game and has also worked with the likes of India's ODI skipper Shubman Gill, Prabhsimran Singh, and Anmolpreet Singh, among others.
In a short clip circulating on social media, Yuvraj is seen working with Samson during a training session. The former India all-rounder can be seen advising Samson on the technical and tactical aspects of his batting.
Yuvraj has worked with several young and experienced Indian players behind the scenes in recent years. Thanks to his guidance, Abhishek has transformed into one of the best T20 batters in the world at present, smashing records for India. He has cemented his spot as an opener in India's T20I setup and is part of the Men in Blue's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Gill, on the other hand, has been one of the most consistent batters for India in Tests and ODIs and is leading the national team in both formats. Prabhsimran has also made rapid strides and has become a vital cog in the Punjab Kings' batting line-up in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
With the T20 World Cup in less than a month's time, fans are excited about Yuvraj's latest collaboration with Samson and are hoping his valuable inputs help Samson in delivering for India in the showpiece event. While Samson's talent and skills are unquestionable, he has struggled with consistency and will be hoping to improve on that aspect as the T20 World Cup approaches.
Samson is likely to open for India alongside Abhishek in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026. The duo formed a destructive opening pairing for India in the shortest format before Gill's comeback in the T20 setup during the Asia Cup last year. However, with Gill out of the T20 World Cup squad owing to his poor numbers, Samson is set to be India's first-choice opener in the tournament.
He will be looking to continue his impressive run as an opener for India in the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which will get underway on January 21.
