The series is set to open with two matches at Durban's Kingsmead on April 17 and 19 before it shifts to the DP World Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg for the third and fourth T20Is on April 22 and 25. The fifth and final match of the series will be played at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni on April 27.

Last assignment for both IND and SA before T20 WC

This will serve as the final official assignment for both India and South Africa ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to begin from June 12 in England. South Africa have been drawn in Group 1 at the global event alongside defending champions Australia, Pakistan, India and two teams from the qualifiers.

Before the commencement of the T20I series against the Proteas, India will tour Australia for an all-format series where Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the side in both the formats while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy. All the Indian women cricketers are busy in the Women's Premier League, busy playing in the fourth edition.

'Facing a team of India’s quality so close to a World Cup is exactly what the Proteas Women need at this stage of the preparation. It gives them an opportunity to test themselves against a top-level opponent, fine-tune their combinations and ensure they are executing their plans under pressure. This series will play a key role in sharpening the team’s readiness ahead of the T20 World Cup,' said Enoch Nkwe, CSA’s Director of National Teams and High Performance.
