Political differences lead to postponement of India women's white-ball home series against Bangladesh

New Delhi: The Indian women 's cricket team 's white-ball home series against Bangladesh next month has been postponed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), it was notified on Tuesday. The Indian cricket board is aiming to work out an alternate assignment for the world champions side in the same window. The three ODIs and as many T20Is against the neighbouring country were a part of the ICC Future Tours Programme and expected to be played in Kolkata and Cuttack. A BCCI official confirmed to news agency PTI that they will try to arrange an alternate series in December but details are still being worked out. From window-less bus to filthy toilet, Indian archers endure night-long ordeal in Dhaka after flight cancellation

New Delhi: Indian archers endured a full-night chaos when their return to Indian from Dhaka post the Asian Championships was delayed by a day due to a cancelled flight. This forced the medal-winning archers to stay at a substandard shelter after navigating through the violence-hit Bangladeshi capital with security. Out of the 23-strong squad, eleven members which included two minors were left stranded for nearly 10 hours at the airport amid repeated flight delays and no support from the airline on which they were booked. New Delhi: Indian captain Shubman Gill’s availability for the remainder of the first Test match against South Africa is under serious doubt after his neck immobilised on the second day at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. CSK confirm Ruturaj Gaikwad as skipper for IPL 2026

New Delhi: Chennai Super Kings, on Saturday, confirmed that Ruturaj Gaikwad will lead the side in the Indian Premier League 2026 season. The confirmation, on social media handle X, came on the sidelines of the IPL 2026 retentions list that was announced by all the ten franchises ahead of the 2026 mini-auction. Biggest Indian names released by franchises ahead of IPL 2026 auction

New Delhi: All the 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises announced the retained and released list of players ahead of the 2026 mini-auction. The IPL 2026 mini-auction is set to place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi in what will be the third consecutive time for the auction to be held overseas. Meanwhile, all the IPL franchises had a deadline of November 15, 3 PM to announce the list of players that they are interested in retaining and those they want to release. All the retained players would continue to play for their respective franchises in the next edition of the league while the released players would be up for grabs at the auction. India sniff big win in Kolkata Test as South Africa fall apart

New Delhi: Indian team gained complete control in the first Test match at the Eden Gardens as South Africa fell apart at the day end. When stumps were called on Day 2, South Africa were reeling at 93/7 in their second innings, leading India (189) by a mere 63-run margin. It was India 's premier left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja who stole all the limelight at the iconic stadium with a devastating four-wicket haul to put the hosts in pole position of a massive victory. After resounding success of ODI World Cup, ICC launches Emerging Nations Trophy for women

New Delhi: A new global tournament, the Emerging Nations Trophy, involving eight teams from four continents has been launched by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The new tournament would be played from November 20 to 30 in Bangkok. The participating teams would be Thailand, Papua New Guinea, Netherlands, UAE, Scotland, Namibia, Tanzania, and Uganda. What triggered the tournament was the success of the recent ODI World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, said the ICC in a statement. In the showpiece event, which was won by India after beating South Africa by 52 runs, more than 500 millions viewers in India were recorded with a significant growth in viewership across countries. Bowlers lead South Africa's strong comeback as India bundled out with paltry lead

New Delhi: India met the same fate as that of South Africa as the hosts were bundled out for just 189 runs on the second day of the first Test match at Eden Gardens. In reply to South Africa 's first innings score of 159 runs, Indian batters could just add 30 more runs, going back to the pavilion with just a paltry first-innings lead. WFI lifts suspension on Aman Sehrawat, Neha Sangwan for weight violations

New Delhi: The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) on Friday lifted the suspensions of Olympic medallist Aman Sehrawat and junior grappler Neha Sangwan. Both the athletes were barred for weight issues after they turned up overweight at major international championships earlier in the year. It earlier seemed like both Sehrawat and Sangwan will not be eligible for the auction of the Pro Wrestling League (PWL) but with the lift of the suspension, both the wrestlers will enter the auction of the PWL. Sehrawat, who won a bronze medal at the Paris Games 2024, was suspended for being overweight during the World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia in September.
