New Delhi: Babar Azam's disappointing run with the bat continued as the Pakistan player witnessed yet another flop show in the Big Bash League. The Sydney Sixers opener was cheaply dismissed once against during a low-scoring encounter against the Melbourne Stars at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Thursday.

Chasing a moderate total, the Sixers did not gain momentum at any occasion with Babar getting leg before wicket in the 7th over of the match, with the side's score at 48 for 2. Marcus Stoinis delivered a full and straight delivery which sneaked past the inside edge and struck Babar right on the pads.

The Pakistan batter consulted his partner on the other end about a review, having felt that it might have touched the bat but ultimately decided to walk away. It was later clarified with the ball tracking as well which showed that ball would have hit the leg stump which confirmed the umpire's call. He could only score 14 runs off 17 balls, with just a lone boundary.

As soon as Babar was leaving, Stoinis gave him a fiery send-off which added to the misery the Pakistan batter has been suffering. The animated celebrations from the bowler and his teammates made the surroundings exciting but Babar kept his cool and started walking off to the pavilion quietly.

Earlier in the innings, the Sixers' bowlers had laid the foundation for the win by bundling out the Stars for just 128 runs. The side found it tough to score runs at the MCG, losing wickets at regular intervals and failing to build partnerships. As the season progresses, the team would be wishing for their overseas recruit to fire and win them some games.

Hi ongoing struggles have become the talk of the entire cricketing fraternity with the right-handed batter experiencing difficulties in scoring runs.
