New Delhi: Deepti Sharma has lost her top spot in the bowlers rankings while Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur gained two positions in the latest T20 rankings released on Tuesday, January 6. Deepti claimed just one wicket in the final T20 match against Sri Lanka and thus could not stop Australia's Annabel Sutherland from going atop.
Deepti (735) has just one rating point less than Sutherland's 736 as the Australia fast-bowling all-rounder regained her number one position, which she had first attained back in August 2025. At that time, Pakistan spinner Sadia Igbal had conceded the top spot to Australian Sutherland.
Meanwhile, the latest bowling rankings also witnessed Indian left-arm spinner Shree Charani advance to the five positions to the 47th spot on back of her superlative bowling show in the recently-concluded five-match T20I series against the island nation.
In the batters' charts on the other hand, skipper Harmanpreet gained two places to reach the 13th position in the latest ICC women's T20I rankings for batters after her match-winning knock in the fifth and final match against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram. She was effective in the other four matches of the series in which India registered a 5-0 clean sweep over the visitors.
Harmanpreet smashed a blistering 68 runs off 43 deliveries to bag the Player of the Match award and move towards the top 10 of the rankings. Other powerful batters in the queue, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, continued to keep their third and sixth position intact respectively with Australia's Beth Mooney extending her stay at the top. Star performer of the ODI World Cup victory, Jemimah Rodrigues, however, slipped out of the top 10, and is placed 12th.
For the Sri Lankan side, which had a disastrous last series, Kavisha Dilhari (up one place to 32nd) and Chamari Athapaththu (up three places to 48th) gained in the bowling rankings.
