New Delhi: India started their Asia Cup 2025 campaign on a dominant note as the Men in Blue crushed UAE by 9 wickets in Dubai on Wednesday. Chasing a below-par score of 58 runs, India (60/1) completed the easy chase in just 4.3 overs as they registered their fastest chase in men's T20I competition. Their previous fastest chase came against Scotland back in 2021 in just 6.3 overs.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill started off the chase on a fiery note as they made a mockery of the UAE bowlers. Together the duo added 48 runs for the opening wicket with Abhishek departing for a quickfire 30 off just 16 balls. His fiery knock included three sixes and two boundaries.

While the India opener did the bulk of the scoring, Gill carried on from where he had left accumulating 20 runs off just 9 balls to see the side comfortably home. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who came to the crease after Abhishek's departure which was accounted by Junaid Siddique, also scored 7 runs in just 2 deliveries to complete the easy task and start India's campaign on a positive note.

India bowl out UAE for 57

Earlier, India bowled the UAE out for a mere 57 runs in 13.1 overs with Kuldeep Yadav (4/7) and Shivam Dube (3/4) wreaking havoc with the ball. Both the spinners combined together to claim 7 wickets giving away just 11 runs as the UAE batters found it hard to play against India's lethal spin attack.

Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah claimed the first wicket of the innings with a deadly yorker after the UAE openers had stitched 26 runs stand. In a matter of next 31 runs, UAE lost all their remaining nine wickets as Indian bowlers excelled with the ball. Bumrah claimed one wicket in his three overs giving away 19 runs while Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy also claimed a wicket each.

Opener Alishan Sharafu top-scored with 22 runs for UAE, who were asked to bat first. India next play arch-rivals Pakistan on September 14, Sunday while UAE face Oman on September 15 in Abu Dhabi.
