India vs Australia HIGHLIGHTS, 1st ODI: Skipper Mitchell Marsh scored an unbeaten 46 off 52 balls, while Josh Phillipe scored a 29-ball 37 to help Australia beat India by seven wickets in the rain-affected 1st ODI at the Perth Stadium in Perth on Sunday. Australia made light work of the 131-run target in the rain-marred game, which was reduced to a 26-over-a-side contest. With the win, Australia went 1-0 up in the three-match series.
Earlier, India posted 136/9 against Australia in the rain-interrupted first ODI at the Perth Stadium on Sunday. The match was reduced to a 26-overs each side after the third rain interruption. The hosts need 131 runs to win the game according to DLS calculations.
India were struggling at 52/4 in 16.4 overs when rain stopped the proceedings for the third time in the day. But Axar Patel and KL Rahul gave momentum to the innings after resumption to help the visitors reach at least a modest total after a poor start.
Debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy played a very useful cameo towards the end, smashing two maximums in the last over. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma failed to score runs on their return to international cricket after seven months.
Captain Shubman Gill was caught down the leg side off pacer Ellis for 10 runs. For Australia, Matthew Kunhemann, Mitchell Owen, and Josh Hazlewood picked up two wickets each.

Axar Patel returns for his 4th over. Philippe hits another boundary to get 8 runs from it. He moves to 29 off 23 balls, while Marsh is batting on 34 off 39 balls.
Another good over from Harshit Rana as he gives away only 7 runs in the 11th over. Axar wraps up another quick over, conceding 5 runs from it. Australia are cruising in the run chase as India desperately search for wickets. India need wickets to tilt the game in their favour.
A probing over from Harshit Rana as he tests new batter Josh Philippe with some excellent deliveries. The pacer is finding his rhythm in the game and has bowled well so far. Axar with his second over next. Just three singles off the first five balls, but Marsh finishes the over with a four to get 7 runs from it. Australia cross the 50-run mark.
