New Delhi: Indian players continued to dominate the ICC ODI rankings for batters following its latest update on Wednesday. Senior batter Rohit Sharma held on to the top spot in the batters rankings while skipper Shubman Gill held on to the fourth position. Star batter Virat Kohli, who had slipped to the 6th position, gained a spot to occupy the 5th position in the batters list, making it three Indian players in the top five of the ODI batters list.
The biggest drop was that of Pakistan batter Babar Azam, who slipped out of the top-5 in ODI batters rankings for the first time in six years. Azam now sits at the seventh position in the rankings while Shreyas Iyer, who is currently out with injury, is at the ninth position in the list.
In the bowlers rankings, Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan maintains the top spot in the charts with 710 rating points while England seamer Jofra Archer has moved to the second position for the second time in his career. He has benefitted from the slip suffered by South Africa's Keshav Maharaj who has dropped to the third spot. Meanwhile, Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed has moved up 18 places to 20th in the world, and Nandre Burger moved up 46 places to number 73.
In the T20I rankings, Gill has made a significant jump of eight places to reach the 22nd spot while Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav continues to hold the top position. Among Pakistan players, Salman Agha and Abrar Ahmed has achieved career-best positions in the ODI charts after their strong performances in the home series. From the New Zealand side, Jacob Duffy surged to third place among bowlers, while Rovman Powell of the West Indies and Kiwi player Tim Robinson moved up significantly in the batting rankings.
