Earlier, India lost KL Rahul on 39 after he was caught off the bowling of Keshav Maharaj.

Following Pant's departure, Dhruv Jurel (5*) joined Ravindra Jadeja (11*) in the middle, and the duo shared an unbeaten 6-run stand for the 5th wicket to take India to 138/4 at Lunch on Day 2.
