Mohammed Shami, Arjun Tendulkar traded to LSG; Nitish Rana joins DC ahead of IPL 2026

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have traded Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Arjun Tendulkar also joins the LSG from the Mumbai Indians. Nitish Rana has been traded to Delhi Capitals (DC) from Rajasthan Royals (RR).

New Delhi: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have traded Mohammed Shami to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a Rs 10 crore deal, and Arjun Tendulkar also joins the Lucknow-based franchise from Mumbai Indians (MI) for Rs 30 lakh. Sanju Samson has joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), while Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have been traded to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) ahead of IPL 2026.

Shami last played for India during the 2025 Champions Trophy final in March 2025, and has admitted he was going through a tough period after not getting selected for the home Test series against the West Indies and South Africa. He was also not considered for the five-match Test series against England.

The fast bowler played only nine matches for SRH last season and picked up six wickets at an economy rate of 11.23. Shami was bought by SRH for Rs 10 crore at the auction ahead of IPL 2025 after he delivered strong performances in the powerplay during his stint at Gujarat Titans (2022-24). He missed IPL 2024 with an injury, and his powerplay performance in IPL 2025 was poor, with just five wickets in nine innings at an economy of 10.3.

Arjun Tendulkar has been traded to LSG from MI for a Rs 30 lakh cash deal. The Mumbai-based franchise has decided to release the all-rounder so that he can get more playing opportunities at LSG.

Nitish Rana joins DC, Mayank Markande traded to MI

Nitish Rana will now represent Delhi Capitals (DC) after a trade from Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a Rs 4.2 crore deal. Rana played 11 matches for RR in the last season and has scored 217 runs at a strike rate of 161.94. Rana also captained Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2023 when Shreyas Iyer was sidelined due to injury.

Mayank Markande will return to his former side Mumbai Indians (MI), after a successful trade from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He was acquired by KKR for Rs 30 lakh and will join MI at his existing fee.

Markande started his IPL career with MI, representing the franchise in 2018, 2019 and 2022. He then played for the Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2023 and 2024. He has featured in 37 IPL matches and picked up 37 wickets. All-rounder Donavan Ferreira joined RR from DC, and his fee has been revised from Rs 75 lakh to Rs 1 crore.
