New Delhi: Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj on Saturday backed star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja to rediscover his form in the series-deciding third and final ODI against New Zealand. Men in Blue and the Kiwis lock horns in the series-decider on Sunday in Indore and both the sides would be aiming to clinch a victory and pocket the series.
Meanwhile, Siraj said that it would take only one wicket for the left-arm spinner to return to his best form and make a difference in the encounter. This comes after Jadeja went wicketless in the first two matches of the series conceding 44 and 56 runs respectively. In the preceding three-match series against South Africa, the seasoned all-rounder could scalp only one wicket.
'I don't think there is any concern about Jadeja’s form. It is a matter of just one wicket. Once you get that breakthrough, you will see a different bowler altogether,' Siraj said at the pre-match press conference on Saturday.
Siraj also said that the Indian bowling unit remained confident despite being under pressure in the second ODI match, in which the main reason behind going down was the bowling in middle overs. Missed chances on the field gave an opportunity to New Zealand to level the series.
'We played very well in both matches. In the first ODI, our bowling and batting were very good. In the second match, even after losing early wickets, KL Rahul batted well and Nitish Reddy also contributed,' he said.
The senior Team India bowler also said that despite a loss in the second game, the team environment is calm and composed and they are looking forward for the last game which would decide the fate of the tournament. Senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma would also like to make some contribution in the last match they play in the series.
