New Delhi: Multan Sultans owner Ali Khan Tareen has warned the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Pakistan Super League (PSL) of legal action if ghosting continues against his franchise. The PSL could be in danger of running into legal complications if they do not stop to threaten to sue the league's management.
On Wednesday, Tareen took to social media to write a long note against the PSL saying that he will be left with no choice but to initiate legal proceedings against them. He further said that this is the last thing he wants to do as the entire situation looks so unnecessary and could have been easily solved if they wanted to.
'If this ghosting continues we will have no choice but to take legal action. Which is the absolute last thing we want to do. This entire situation is so unnecessary and could have easily been solved over tea and biscuits. But fragile egos make simple things difficult. Let's hope better sense prevails, but it is not looking likely,' Tareen said in a social media post on Wednesday (November 19).
Last month, Tareen was in news for publicly tearing down a PCB notice that sought a public apology from him. He took to social media handle X saying that the Pakistan Cricket Board has threatened him by sending a letter for termination. The PSL franchise owner is known to hit out at the PCB management over unprofessional methods and wrongdoings running in the league.
Tareen has been agitated over PCB's apparent refusal to renew his franchise contract while the agreements for the over five teams in the league are reportedly being renewed. He further wrote in his text on social media that they have sent multiple email requests to the PSL management asking for their valuation and renewal letter which the other teams have received.
Meanwhile, the PCB has said that the renewal of existing franchises has been finalised also announcing the completion of the independent valuation process for the PSL franchises and other commercial assets. They also said that after the completion of the formalities, renewal offer letters have been shared with all the PSL franchises.
