No decision

The PCB is yet to decide on a new head coach for the women's team after Muhammad Wasim was removed following their last-place finish at the World Cup.

Pakistan lost all their four group games and rest three were washed out due to rain in Colombo.

Speculation was rife over Wahab Riaz's appointment as consultant or head coach but a PCB official denied it.

"Wahab has already been working as a consultant in the PCB with various teams but has been given no new assignment as yet," the official told PTI.

PCB is in negotiations with two overseas coaches but is yet to finalise anyone and Riaz would be considered only when talks with either of the two fail.

"If things don’t work out with the foreign coaches, the PCB will look at local options foremost among them is former women's team captain, Bismah Maroof," the source added.
