A total of 350 players will go under the hammer at the upcoming IPL 2026 mini auction after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) spurned the list of registered players. A staggering 1355 players had registered for the IPL 2026 auction, however, the BCCI trimmed the list down to 350 after extensive consultations with all ten franchises.
The final list of 350 players was formed after the franchises submitted their respective lists of players they wanted to see at the auction. As per Cricbuzz, 35 new names, including the likes of Quinton de Kock and Kusal Perera, have been added to the final list of 350 players for the IPL 2026 auction. These 35 players were not part of the initial list.
Quinton de Kock, who recently came out of international retirement to play ODIs for South Africa, has opted for a base price of Rs 1 crore for the IPL 2026 auction. De Kock slammed a brilliant ton in the recently concluded third ODI between India and South Africa in Vizag. He was part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) squad in IPL 2025.
De Kock was bought by KKR at his base price of Rs 2 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction last year and was released by the three-time champions after their dismal campaign. His name has been added to the final list of players for the IPL 2026 auction on the recommendation of a franchise.
Apart from De Kock, the list of new names also features a host of Sri Lankan players like Traveen Mathew, Binura Fernando, Perera and Dunith Wellalage. South Africa spinner George Linde is also among the new additions, along with Arab Gul of Afghanistan. There are also a number of domestic names among the 35 players added to the final list.

The IPL 2026 auction is set to take place at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on December 16. The auction is slated to begin at 2:30 PM IST. The auction will feature a total of 350 players. The ten teams will head into the auction with a combined purse of Rs 237.55 crore and 77 slots to fill. The ten teams have a total of 31 overseas slots available in their respective squads.
Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the IPL 2026 auction with the biggest purse of Rs 64.30 crore, followed by Chennai Super Kings, who have Rs 43.40 crore remaining in their purse. Sunrisers Hyderabad are a distant third with Rs 25.50 crore in their purse. The mini-auction will begin with a full round of capped players in order of specialism - batters, all-rounders, wicket-keeper batters, fast bowlers and spinners.
