RCB thrash Gujarat Giants to bag third successive win in WPL

RCB registered their third straight victory in WPL 2026 after they thrashed Gujarat Giants by 32 runs in a game on Friday.

New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continued their unbeaten run in the Women's Premier League (WPL) by thrashing Gujarat Giants (GG) in a match on Friday. RCB rode on a century stand between seasoned Radha Yadav and Richa Ghosh and a five-wicket haul by spinner Shreyanka Patil to beat Gujarat by 32 runs.

Aged 23 years and 169 days, Shreyanka became the youngest bowler to get a 5-wicket haul in the history of WPL. After they were sent into bat first by the Giants, Radha and Richa scored 66 and 44 runs respectively to register a 105-run stand for the fifth wicket in the first innings after RCB lost the first few wickets quickly in the innings.

The innings from both the players guided the side to a competitive score of 182 for 7 after being 43 for 4 in the sixth over. This is also the first time that RCB have started the WPL with three straight wins. Nadine de Klerk also added 26 runs to the overall score after the first few batters failed to impress, including skipper Smriti Mandhana. Grace Harris scored 17 runs initially in the innings but failed to convert it into a big knock. 

Sophie Devine emerges as pick of bowlers

For the Gujarat side, Sophie Devine was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/31 while Kashvee Gautam  also bowled well claiming figures of 2/42. Renuka Singh also claimed a wicket to contribute. RCB bowlers then dismissed Gujarat Giants for 150 in 18.5 overs, with off-spinner Patil claiming 5 for 23 and England pacer Lauren Bell registering figures of 3 for 29, wrecking the rival batting order.

For the Giants, Bharti Fulmali scored 39 runs off just 20 balls ending as the highest scorer while Beth Mooney scor3d 27 runs initially.
