Team India star Virat Kohli was recently spotted taking a stroll in London with his wife Anushka Sharma. Kohli has been away from on-field action since lifting the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 title with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earlier this year. Kohli won his maiden IPL title with RCB after the Rajat Patidar-led side defeated Punjab Kings in the final.
Kohli travelled back to London immediately after RCB's IPL title triumph and has been living away from the limelight in England. In a video which has gone viral on social media, Kohli can be seen exploring London with his wife Anushka like normal citizens, away from the limelight they get in India. The couple can be seen having a chat with some locals, who seem to have recognised them.
Kohli and Anushka shifted permanently to London along with their kids last year. The celebrity couple make rare public appearances in the city and stays away from the limelight. Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket earlier this year, ahead of India's recently concluded Test series against England.
The star batter was expected to play in the series, but he decided to quit the longest format after reportedly being informed by the team management and the selectors that he was not in their plans going forward. Kohli announced his retirement from Tests, days after Rohit Sharma called it quits for India in the whites.
Kohli finished his Test career as India's 4th highest run-getter with 9230 runs in 123 matches at an average of 46.85, including 30 centuries and 31 fifties. Many felt Kohli should have carried on for another couple of years as he still remains one of the fittest cricketers in the world. However, the Team India star decided to part ways, having also retired from T20Is last year.
Kohli will now feature for India only in ODIs, having quit the other two formats. He will return to action for the Indian team when they take on Australia in a three-match ODI series in October this year. He last played for India in the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand in March this year.
