Rohit Sharma gears up for Australia series

Rohit arrived at Shivaji Park on Friday to practice ahead of India's upcoming tour of Australia. The senior Indian batter arrived at the iconic ground with former India assistant coach Abhishek Nayar and his wife Ritika Sajdeh. Mumbai cricketer Angkrish Raghuvanshi was also in attendance at the ground during Rohit's practice session.

The Indian batter trained at the venue for a couple of hours before leaving. Rohit, who was recently removed from ODI captaincy, will be making his comeback for India in the upcoming series against Australia. Having already retired from T20Is and Tests, Rohit is only active in ODIs and will be playing his first series for India since the Champions Trophy when he takes the field in the three-match rubber against Australia later this month.

Rohit has been replaced by Shubman Gill as India's captain in ODIs. Gill had earlier replaced the Hitman as India's Test captain after he quit the longest format. Despite having turned 38, Rohit remains committed to prolonging his ODI career for India ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup and recently shed a significant amount of weight to be in best possible shape for the Australia series.
